Hoy en la noche es el fiesta de Homecoming... Deanna compro un vestido hace meses y lo mando a arreglar. Hoy se arreglo, Matt la fue a dejar al restaurante donde se va a juntar con un grupo de amigos para cenar y cuando ellos se vayan a la fiesta, ella se regresa a la casa. Matthew desde un principio decidio que no queria ir. Esto es algo que a mi me cuesta un mundo entender! Primero que nada, aunque no soy nada buena, me encanta bailar. Cuando yo tenia la edad de ellos, no habian muchos fines de semana sin que fueramos a una fiesta con mi grupo de amigos... son unos de los mejores recuerdos que tengo de esa epoca.
Por lo que ellos me cuentan, el tipo de baile en estas fiestas es algo que a ellos no les agrada en lo mas minimo. Que bueno que ellos puedan decidir que no quieren ser parte de algo que no es apropiado, pero me da tristeza pensar que ellos no van a pasarla tan bien como la pase yo a su edad. Cada uno de nosotros creamos nuestros propios recuerdos, y yo estoy segura de que cuando ellos tengan hijos, no van a poder creer que sus hijos no quieran hacer lo que ellos hacen ahora.
Tonight is the Homecoming Dance... Deanna bought a dress months ago and had it altered. Tonight, she got ready and Matt dropped her off at the restaurant where she was meeting a group of friends to have dinner with, and when they go to the dance, she is coming home. Matt decided not to go from the very beginning. This is something that I have a really hard time understanding! First of all, even though I'm not good at all, I love to dance. When I was their age, there weren't many weekends when my friends and I didn't go to a party... those are some of the best memories I have from that time.
From what they tell me, the kind of dancing going on at this parties is something that they don't like at all. It is good that they can decide not to be part of something inappropriate, but I think that it is sad that they are not going to have as good as a time as I did at their age. We all create our own memories, and I'm sure that some day when they have their own kids, they won't believe that their kids don't want to do what they now like to do.
LOL me again. Our kids each only went to one homecoming dance. They were not impressed with the goings on there either. Some left early, others stayed and none went back for a second round!
